Setup Command Aliases

Command aliases can save you a lot of time if you regularly use the same commands or send text strings repetitively.

If you want to create a command alias, follow these steps:


  1. Select "File" –> "Preferences" from the main menu or use the "Alt" + "P" shortcut to invoke the "Preferences" dialog window.

  2. Enable the "Full mixed mode" option. Full mixed mode
  3. Set the required serial port in the "Aliases" tab. Aliases
  4. Type the sequence of characters that will be used as the command shortcut in the "New alias" text field. New alias
  5. Enter the command to be executed by the alias in the “Command” text field. The command length is limited to 1024 bytes. Command
  6. You can also designate a hotkey to be used as an alias to your command. designate a hotkey
  7. Click the “Add” button to create the alias. Create the alias
  8. Click on “Apply” to save your changes.

  9. You can remove all create aliases by selecting the “Clear All” button followed by clicking on the “Apply” button.

  10. After you create the alias, you can use it by typing the alias (for example, ##1) in “Send” panel (“String” mode only) in your current session and pressing “Enter”. The command defined for this alias will be sent to the designated serial port. Designated serial port
